When we talk about the concept of heaven and hell, many people would most definitely choose to go to heaven rather than hell. This is because the idea of hell is partnered with the sense of punishment, pain, and suffering. From a very young age, most of us are told that if we do something terrible or commit sin willfully, we will be sent to hell in the afterlife. Now the outcome of these teachings has allowed humankind to remain civil and find acts of sin unacceptable. However, these teachings alone do not stop all the evil doings committed by humankind. Even still, hell remains a symbol of punishment for anyone who commits sin.
Now there may be a number of skeptical people out there who completely denies the concept of heaven and hell, and this goes way back before the Middle Palaeolithic era, which was 45 – 200 thousand years ago. But the lack of knowledge of what lies beyond the universe and countless unanswered questions about our world only solidifies the presence of a divine being who is responsible for creating everything.
The air of mystique revolving around the feeling of not knowing what is out there allows us to believe in God all the more because there are things we cannot explain. And some things are just meant to be unfathomable for humankind simply because we cannot comprehend such Godly acts and ethereal creations. But there is one thing that we do know, which is to abide by the rules of God and follow the teachings of the bible by implementing them in our daily lives.
In these modern times, the idea of hell is not as scary as it used to be because of how the media represents it. Did humankind choose to ignore the concept of heaven and hell entirely? Have people forgotten about just how terrifying it is to be banished to the fiery depths of hell? Stick around as we discuss God’s final warning for humankind.
The book of Genesis states, “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth, and the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light, and there was light.” Now, this is what we have always known and is why we worship God because he created the very world in which we exist. But in this verse, you may notice that the presence of hell is not mentioned. In fact, hell was not stated to have been created alongside heaven and earth. So, when was hell created? In the books of the holy bible, it is said that hell was made for the devil and his fallen angels. However, the Bible does not tell us when it was created.
