Revelation chapter 15 is an introductory scene to the seven last plagues of chapter 16. The fifteenth chapter of Revelation is like a breath of fresh air. John had been given a view of the awful work of the dragon, the beast and the false prophet as they endeavored to crush the people of God. And for centuries, because of the work of these Satanic powers against God’s people, it often appeared that the powers of evil would prevail.
However, in this Bible prophecy John pictures the destiny in the end time of God’s people who have not fallen a prey to the beast. It is a beautiful portrayal of complete deliverance and salvation. Before the outpouring of the seven last terrible plagues God wants His people to have the assurance of their final victory.
The prophet is given a view of the triumph of the church of God over all her enemies. The plagues which are about to descend upon the earth are fearful, but the saints will be delivered from them.
God’s faithful people have gained the victory over the beast. They stand before God’s throne and “sing the song of Moses.” The song of Moses is a song of victory, because the Lord delivered Israel from Pharaoh and the Red Sea. Exodus 15:1-19. The “song of the Lamb” is the song of His victory and of salvation for His saints.
John saw the temple in Heaven open and seven angels came out “having the seven plagues.” God’s glory and power filled the temple and “no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues… were fulfilled.”
The messages of mercy borne by the three angels of Revelation 14 have done their work. The judgment, which began in 1844, is finished and all the saints are sealed. A final and permanent decision has been made by every person. All have either accepted Christ or rejected Him and chosen Satan as lord instead. Probation for mankind has closed. Jesus says, “he that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he who is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” Revelation 22:11.
